Director of Logistics Centers – Dallas, TX / Houston, TX

Job Description

The Director of Logistics Centers is accountable for the overall success of any corporate owned stations.  Success starts with three basic words (Sell, Service and Collect), but can be further defined based on the below duties and responsibilities. 

Position Overview and Responsibilities

  • Management and leadership of corporate owned branch offices to include P&L responsibility, profitable revenue growth, service, employee development, staffing and net income
  • Develop and execute a business plan for the success of the individual offices
  • Leadership and point of contact for the development and start-up operations for any new corporate owned operations to include determining an initial pro-forma budget, personnel requirements, facility, cartage operation, capital equipment, staff hiring/training, time lines and execution
  • Team development within the corporate owned branches focused on local customers, network business and service execution. Corporate branches need to take a leadership role and become “Best of Class” within the Team system
  • Learn and understand Team’s culture, operational systems (Team NAV) and policies and procedures (SAC) in order to transform that knowledge to coach, direct and mentor the staff within the corporate owned branches
  • Drive revenue growth with a focus on new business development both domestic and international freight forwarding
  • Flexibility in terms of special projects, task force requirements, committee participation and executive leadership involvement

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the President of Team Worldwide.

 Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum freight forwarding experience 5 to 7 years
  • Background in managing branch operations, including P&L responsibility
  • International air and ocean background, along with domestic freight forwarding experience
  • Domicile location – Dallas or Houston
  • Experience working for an agency/franchise freight forwarding model

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting at a computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Corporate Services – Winnsboro, TX

Overview

Team Worldwide Corporate Office in Winnsboro, TX continuously strives to find talent to add to our business-critical departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Recaps, and Communications. The ideal candidates we are looking for have the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and can work with a sense of urgency and accuracy. These corporate service employees will be responsible for carrying out the daily administrative duties of one of the following departments.

 Accounts Receivable (ARD)

  • Maintain customer accounts and work with appropriate branch offices to resolve any payment or collections issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch offices and their customers
  • Monitor and set up incoming customer account requests
  • Answer phone calls and address any collections or receivables-related questions
  • Be available to assist other Collections and Receivables Clerks as needed

Accounts Payable (PAY)

  • Process vendor payments, timely and accurately
  • Provide follow up correspondence and resolution on pending payable items
  • Ensure that vendor payment count is maintained at a sufficient level
  • File applicable reports and invoices in appropriate locations
  • Provide support to others in the department as needed

Recaps (RCP)

  • Audit incoming recaps and backup paperwork
  • Work with branch offices to resolve recap discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch offices and their customers
  • Process recaps in a timely manner, while adhering to various deadlines
  • Assist others in the department as needed

 Communications (COMM)

  • Answer incoming customer service phone calls and respond to questions about existing shipments
  • Monitor shipments in the shipment pickup dashboard
  • Provide updates to branch offices and customers on shipment status and information regarding the shipment
  • Rating/Pricing
  • Data entry
  • On-call duty as trained and assigned
  • Occasional morning or night shifts assigned as necessary to support department needs

  • Ability to switch between tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds
